Street Fighter IV Review

Posted in Online, PS3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , , , on March 21, 2009 by reasonjp

It’s pleasing that in a world full of space marines, blank slates of FPS characters and racing cars driven by faceless men behind helmets, Street Fighter is, and always has been, about character. Chances are, although they may move around from fighter to fighter, most players will adopt one as their favourite, depending on when they really got involved with the dynasty. I’m with Ryu, although as ever, Street Fighter IV is finely balanced enough to make playing with (almost) any character an enjoyable experience. While new fat boy Rufus may join returnee Dan Hibiki in the ‘comedy value’ drawer, El Fuerte is a Mexican lucha who is also a chef. A Mexican luchadore street fighting chef= license to print money.

Street Fighter IV sees the disturbing return of the Sinister Behind Men. Here they make their illicit backstreet deals.

Hallelujiah! Two Great Patches On the Way!

Posted in News, Online, PS3, Xbox 360 with tags , , on January 23, 2009 by richinjapan

According to PS3Fanboy, there are two great patches on their way in the next two weeks. Listen up!

First up, Resistance 2. Many people have been slapped in the face with a bug that resets their level back to the beginning, but the fix is on the way — as in, this coming Monday (Jan 26). Even better is the news that the XP data was never actually lost, so the patch will bring back your original levels, as well as adding that to the XP you’ve gained since the bug hit. The patch will also include various tweaks to gameplay/ammo, trophies/medals, and match-making/clan support.

Next up, on February 3, Criterion continues their relentless support of Burnout Paradise with a patch adding many long-awaited features. Cheif among them? THE ABILITY TO RESTART RACES! I swear, this game just keeps getting better and better. It’s enough to make you wish you hadn’t played it before, just to experience all this stuff at once. Other improvements include better night driving, balancing to several game modes, and improved handling to make the game more friendly to new-comers.

Rejoice, my friends. Rejoice. And while you’re at it, check out the links to see the detailed update info.
